It has been said that the good is the enemy of the best...
II Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." It has been said that the good is the enemy of the best. Choosing to give and do the best with my God given talents, gifting, time and resources pleases God. Talk the answers; not the problems. The Holy Spirit, your teacher, will reveal the things that have been freely given to us by God. Have the faith in and of God, approaching Him with confidence. Know His word, studying to show yourself approved. God hears when you pray according to His will.
Prayer"Father, I submit my total self to You, afresh, today. All that I am to be a worker approved by You; rightly dividing the word of truth. Thank You for giving to me Your Holy Spirit to teach me all things and to bringing to remembrance Your word that enables me to be, to be and to give my best in everything. Forgive me for just doing things to be just good enough. Help me to do all things Your way. I chose from this day forward to give and to do my best in everything that I may be a living epistle, rightly dividing the Word of truth. Thank You. In Jesus' name. Amen."

UnderstandingYour Spiritual Authority and Responsibility
When Adam and Eve were created, God gave them authority to manage all matters on the earth. "The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's; but the earth He has given to the children of men."111 Their sin in the garden represented a rebellious heart that desired to move from manager to owner. Satan convinced them that God was holding out on them, and he appealed to their pride to be all knowing like God.112 Each of us has an innate sin nature that wants to be the boss, not just a steward of what God has entrusted to us. However, stewardship is man's role, to represent His interests and to execute His will on earth.
"So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord God (Ezek 22:30-31). (This is an excerpt from a new manuscript by Os Hillman).
Because we've been entrenched in the "secular versus sacred" model for so long, it can be difficult for us to view our work as a ministry and workplace believers as missionaries in the 9 to 5 Window. However, God tells us clearly that we are to glorify God in all that we do (see Col. 3:17,24). One way we can do this is through intercessory prayer, which can be characterized as an intense type of prayer for others (see Eph. 6:18; Col. 4:12), the priestly calling of all believers (see 1 Pet. 2:5; Exod. 19:6) and the Holy Spirit praying in us (see Rom. 8:26-27). Having people pray for us to fulfill our purpose and calling in our workplaces is consistent with the will of God for every individual.
