Time-Saving Tips from the Bible

Charis Hillman Brown • Work As Ministry
Read These 10 Time-Saving Tips from the Bible.

1. Pray

"If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought." -James 1:5

2. More Brains, Less Muscle:

"Remember: The duller the ax the harder the work; Use your head: The more brains, the less muscle."-Ecclesiastes 10:10 MSG

3. Avoid Worry and Stress

"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" -Luke 12:25

4. Don't Hang Out with Bad Company

"Escape quickly from the company of fools; they're a waste of your time, a waste of your words." -Proverbs 14:7

5. Live Righteously. Do it!

"Merely hearing God's law is a waste of your time if you don't do what he commands. Doing, not hearing, is what makes the difference with God." -Romans 2:12

6. Live Simply (Keep It Simple Sweetie!)

"I do want to point out, friends, that time is of the essence. There is no time to waste, so don't complicate your lives unnecessarily. Keep it simple "in marriage, grief, joy, whatever. Even in ordinary things"your daily routines of shopping, and so on. Deal as sparingly as possible with the things the world thrusts on you. This world as you see it is on its way out." -1 Corinthians 7:29 MSG

7. Work as Unto God
"With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don't hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort." -1 Corinthians 15:5
8. Avoid Getting Caught Up in the Details - Keep A Heavenly Perspective

"But make sure that you don't get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God." -Romans 13:11

9. Rest

"It's useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don't you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?" -Psalm 127:2 MSG "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work." -Genesis 2:2 NIV

10. Make God the First Thing

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." -Matthew 6:33
